Modern Custom Home in Pacific Palisades: Building Around 20 Existing Trees
Ohayon Construction’s Pacific Palisades custom home project brought together approximately 4,500 square feet of modern living space with a combination of wood and concrete.
Completed in 2025. Construction duration: approximately 18 months.

A modern home with a site-specific challenge
The project’s biggest construction challenge was working around 20 old trees. Preserving those trees was an important part of the work, alongside building the new home.
Underground drilling to preserve the trees
Rather than removing the trees to make way for the underground work, the project used underground drilling to bypass them. This approach allowed the construction work to proceed while saving the existing trees.
The combination of modern architecture, wood and concrete gave this Pacific Palisades home its design direction. The tree-preservation work adds another important part of the story: a construction approach shaped by the property itself.
Open interiors and contrasting finishes
Inside, wood flooring and stair treads contrast with black metal railings and dark kitchen cabinetry. The double-height entry brings the staircase into view, while the kitchen's veined waterfall island creates a strong focal point.

Bathroom details and outdoor living
Distinct bathroom finishes include a double vanity with round mirrors and geometric floor tile. Outside, the landscaped pool area brings together paving, lawn and a poolside building.
